Dinner table
Nb : This blog is purely for humour purposes with no references to anyone who has invited me for dinner till date and well, after reading this I am pretty sure no one will ever make the mistake again!!!
“A dinner invitation once accepted is a sacred obligation”__---___ some wise person!!!
Anything that breaks monotony is always welcome in an engineer’s life and if you talk about breaking the jinx of self made food then this call for dinner invitation was the best thing that happened to me in last few days!!! I was really sick of self made, rather under prepared food and mostly rely on junk and you know what repeating junk for 7 days a week, three times a day actually means!!!!:( I love festive season for an ‘odd invite’ that it brings along for ‘d bachelor’!!!
“please do come, awryt”, my uncle just called me to confirm that I was not disappointing them big time like I did everytime by missing almost all of the family gatherings and dinners and everything else that is reffered to as socializing according to my parents and few close friends!!
I maintained a ‘not so desperate profile’ and believe me it is the hardest thing to do when every digestive juice of yours is crying inside for something that actually tastes good, hence my tongue betrayed my ‘fake’ self and I confirmed the acceptance of dinner invitation!!!
And there I was knocking on the door after an hour or so after the call. Desperation and excitement make you do silly things, and this is what exactly I did, I preferred knocking on the door when an electric door bell was installed on the gate, to be really honest I did not notice it!!. It took them 5 minutes to notice that a creature was struggling with the gate and my uncle finally opened the door and hugged me, he pointed me to walk upto the house and checked the door bell to see if it was out of order or his ‘little boy’ was crazy!!
Fortunately he has never mentioned the line that has the power to embarrass me in every possible corner where I have little respect, the line, “beta door bell was working, why did not you use it??”
The only thing that was on my mind was good food and this sure was not on my uncle and aunty’s mind. Night actually becomes a nightmare when you are thought to be very wise and thoughtful person and I had to live it all from the moment I entered the room, and believe me living wise when you actually aren’t that wise demands a skillful way of lying and cheating!!! (fact)!! Soon aunty ji pointed to tv and said, “This modern generation!! Ah look at them, is this music??”
Both of them looked at me for an answer that would establish that they were right in blaming the generation next for everything that they showed up on tv!!
Believe me, if not for that dinner, I would have never lied! Ah selfish me!! “This is really indecent uncle”, I replied and changed the tv channel to some news channel to kill the root cause of talks like this!!!
On dining table finally!!!!
I prided myself when I finally got on to that dinner chair, there were three chairs around the table, meant for all three sophisticated people who talk sense before dinner and make their guests wait like anything!! I believe people actually make you wait for the dinner because it serves them two things, first since you have waited for so long it is unlikely that you will waste the food. Secondly, pre dinner and post dinner conversations actually have a little history, history of love, history of times when people invited relatives and friends not just to dine with them but be with them, I mean everyone has his own square meal no?, why to invite someone to come and eat your pockets away!!! Pure love which has turned to nothing more than a formality!!!
Anyways I had waited really long to get on this chair which I valued like a chief minister values his political chair!!! I do not remember clearly but I discussed politics, religion, society and cousins along with all other things which had no relevance either with me or my hosts, like for example I tried explaining them the concept of “routing” and congestion when he asked about some layman electronic thing!!! Thus to say I actually earned my dinner after wise talks of two hours. I wish I had the recordings of all the ‘wise talking’ I did I could have easily made it to the higher levels of ministry of divinity!!!
Ah!! Finally dinner arrived, uncle and aunty made every possible effort to make my plate look like well decorated and full 200rs hotel trademark dinner plate!! I saw love and care when they were flooding my plate with everything they had prepared, I never wanted to get carried away by emotions and in order to help myself I started lying about the doctors who once had advised me to stay away from oily food and fish!! “amazing!! It always helps!!!”
I had one of the best dinner’s of my life!!!
I hope people keep me inviting!!!
message
Do not waste food.
Do not accept dinner invitations if you cant talk good!!
Keep decency at home if you really want to enjoy food!!!!

and my last trip( short story)
Wednesday, akademicheskaya, Moscow russia.
Pure business nothing else was on my mind when I walked down the stairs leading to metro station AKADEMICHESKAYA. In next few hours I had to meet two clients, one at LENINSKY PROSPEKT(metro station) and the other at my final destination i.e SHABOROVSKAYA(metro station). I was excited since it was my first trip outside of India and was feeling proud that my company trusted me to handle the Russian clients. I had a tetra pack(SOME COUNTRY SIDE BEER) in my hand as I sat on the bench on the only platform at the metro.
For some reasons Russians don’t really like silence to prevail for long like us Indians and this makes us bond like nothing else, we even beat Fevicol bond in this field. Few men were arguing over the ticket counter, “|vilasya something something”. I looked at the slowly ticking clock at the top of the counter and then looked on the tube for train but saw nothing except darkness. I was trying to avoid the noisy discussion that Russians were offering for free to everyone on the platform. I came back to the bench and sat down and closed my eyes as I reclined myself to be comfortable on that wooden bench, the excitement of being on my first foreign trip had kept me up like an owl for past few days. The noises became louder and louder and I decided to look into what really is going on.They could be Russian mafia, they could be terrorists, they could be drug dealers, they could be flesh traders, they could harm me, all these thoughts pricked me as I got up and started walking towards ever growing noise of the Russians.
“Excuse me can I help you”, I asked the man who was shouting loudly at the counter.
I was just hoping that he understands English otherwise there was no escape without proving to him that I was not really abusing him in English. He was an old man in mid 50’s and fortunately for me he understood English.
“yesh, we can sort it out ourselves, it is between me and the station, stay away” he shouted at me and got back to the man in the counter.
Who wants to solve your problem anyway, I am just getting troubled by the nuisance you are creating. I walked away without saying anything, as I moved out of these 10-15 people, I found a girl sitting on the bench as if waiting for these men to arrive at a decision, she was all in tears and sobbing, she must be in her mid 20’s. I framed the situation in my mind,
These men are flesh traders and they are taking this girl to LENINSKY to sell her off to bosses there, and the metro authorities are not allowing them to travel without proper identification details. I heard myself talking to my inner self,
“I am not into all this, just finish your businesss and travel back to Moscow, don’t get into all this, I don’t even know the girl and besides this happens in every part of the world”
“Why not inform policia?”
“I will end up messing things up, I should first know the situation”
Pre-occupied with these thoughts I walked up to that girl and sat besides her avoiding any eye contact with the people shouting there, of course they had seen me coming and sitting there and I had folded my fist in my pocket just in case things go awry.
“English?” I asked her avoiding looking at her.
“Thank you”, I heard as I turned back to her.
“Are you in trouble, are these people with you, what are they talking about, do you know them?”
I seemed like asking million questions and she smiled and answered.
“He is my husband and we have to travel down to shabolovskaya and they are not providing any tickets and you know it is really urgent because if we don’t go, I will be thrown out of my college, I got admission in medical college and I just want to get out of this mess here in akademicheskaya, these people are real butchrers….”
And she narrated her story of suffering and everything I thought was correct to some extent.
Yellia, something something, the man pulled her and everyone stood waiting to get into train.
The tube arrived,
Finally they too had got a ticket after lots of fighting and arguing.
I heard my cellphone ringing and it was the client I had to meet on the next station, we fixed up the meeting place to be a coffee inn at the leninsky station.
The sound of stopping train is always so different in non home country, I never experienced delhi metro like I enjoyed moscow’s, but I missed the friends I had made while travelling down in delhi metro, just smile friends. People in Russia prefer to keep stiff upper lip unlike us so you are bound to feel stuck unless you are paid like I was.
The train stopped for two min and I hurried down with my laptop and long overcoat, yes it was mid December. I was walking towards the coffee inn when I felt my hand touched by someone’s hand, it was a girl in veil and I figured her out to be the same girl I had met with all that drama on the previous station.
“What?, your train is leaving, you are supposed to be going to the next station, this is leninsky not…”, I WAS AWE STUCK!!
I tried to explain everything to her but I felt she knew it was the wrong station, she just winked and said,
“I will wait for you in the bench”. And walked away towards smoky bench near the exit.
I was in the state of ruins, oh god why do you do this to me!! Whatt am I supposed to do now, face Russian mafia for kidnapping someone’s wife, I had a meeting in few minutes but there was nothing in my mind and there was every possible chance that I will loose the client.
“No, just come with me, you are not safe here”, I don’t know why I saId this, I honestly don’t know it!! There was no lOve I had not even seen her properly and I avoided looking in her eyes because I was not sure of what this whole thing is all about.
We walked towards the coffee inn and I booked a table for two and left her with the discretion of ordering anything.
I met the client and we sat on class “A TABLE”(kind of business class table), I could see my table(table where the unknown Russian gal was) from this positon. She was not eating anything, just lost in thought and had unveiled her face, damn she was goegeous, she had blue eyes, pink cheeks and small nose which is characteristic of country side Russians. There were two things that were going on.
A meeting with the client
And meeting of two hearts, a Russian and an Indian enterprise heart,
One was the heart bound by work, bound by rules, bound by his country’s ethics, customs, religion and all that sense that comes in mind when you think of a girl who is married and stranger.
The other heart too had a story, story of suffering, story of suppression, story of poverty and story of dreams and story of love.
I walked upto her after hurrying through the meeting with the Russian client and asked,
“Would you like to have soup?”
Soups have always played great role in Russian meal and there was hardly anything other than soups that I saw in the menu.
“schi, ukha, rassolnik, solyanka, botvinya, okroshka and tyurya and the list continues”
She looked in my eyes and smiled and waved out to the waiter.
“poluchite dva supa I vodka”
The waiter nodded and went away!!
I was wondering what she ordered and dared to ask, “did you order vodka?”
“yes, don’t you want it too?”
There was no answer, I mean I would better take vodka than those soups!!
We finished with the bowls of rassolnik and she continued with vodka without caring to pour it in glass. I was wondering what Jason statham did in transporters movie where he meets a Russian stubborn suffering girl!! I somehow felt like him.
We got into train together after good dinner and I thanked her for being a good omen for my very first meeting. She pretended to be good in English but she was not very fluent so she just thanked me again and smiled and whispered in my ear something that meant.
“I don’t want to go to shabolovskaya, they will get me there”.
This shivered me because I had to go to shabolovskaya in any circumstance to meet my next client nad the fact that she did not go with her clan means that they will be looking for her and they had seen me talking to her at akedemicheskaya station so I was bound to be inquired and they may even suspect something fishy.
I told her this and asked her name to address her properly, with every mile that we moved towards the next station I started to sweat and my voice got timid.
“kerniasova Alana” she replied.
Damn just this much for all that I just told you, she seemed to be so cool and played with my hair and kissed me as train whizzed as fast as could.
I realized I had fallen in love with her cuz the fact that she will be away from me now was killing me more than the fear of those men. I just wanted to get down at leninsky and hurry fast into Moscow with her and even made plan in my head. We talked a lot, we shared almost same music interests, she was more into country music and Shania twain was her favorite, there was only one common thing that we talked about and that was US. I felt a new world building in front of my eyes, somewhere at the back of my mind I thought of her as someone who just wanted to get into Moscow and I was just ‘channel’, but when I looked in her deep blue eyes I saw truth, truth that bollYwood has never been able to put in the eyes of crying and sobbing actresses. She slept with her head on my shoulder and her locks were moving all over my face, never had I imagined that I will be in love with a gal whose hair will be natural brown, prided and smiled and kissed her!!! It was 2:30 am and leninsky was still an hour away, I remember she got up at 3am and whispered “ya lyublyu tebya” in my ear. I responded with slow,” I love you too and we slept again”!!

GOD IN THE MINDS OF A TERRORIST
GOD –IN THE MINDS OF THE TERRORIST
In This piece I am going to address the problems of that kind of terrorism which is labeled as religious terrorism, that is, terrorism attributed to, or associated, with religion.
Terrorism of any kind, in any form, is deterrent, a threat to peace and development. But an equally formidable threat to lasting peace and development comes from counter-terrorism in the sense that a vicious cycle, a symbiotic relationship is created in which the two phenomena feed on each other.
Violence
Such conceptualization of religious violence, equated with, or occasioned by, upsurge in the world’s religions, in different parts of the globe, implies that such religious resurgence has to be rolled back for restoring secular values; for reinforcing modern western civilization with its inherent polarity between secularism and religion; for strengthening the United States ‘as the politico-military champion’ against religious terrorism on global level, and for accelerating the forces of globalization which is seen as the great historical force for leveling down ethnic, ethno-religious and religious identities that are perceived as the breeding ground for religious assertions. This is one scenario today.
The other opposite scenario may be termed as GOD in the minds of the terrorist, in the sense that religious acts, labeled as terrorist acts by the opponents, are of the nature of religiously and morally justified reprisal against the STATE TERRORISM, now outsourced and globalized by the US led west that, singling out Islam is an example.
There being no meeting ground between these two extreme positions, it is, therefore, essential to comprehend the dialectics of contemporary social realities expressing itself out in these two opposite scenarios.
Four main characteristics constitute the dialectics of contemporary social reality in the world today; these characteristics have direct or indirect bearing on terrorism attributed or related to religion.
First, the class contradictions that predominated the larger part of the twentieth century have given place to ethnic, ethno-religious, and religious contradictions; whereas earlier the ethnic, ethno-religious contradictions were meditated in and through ethnic, ethno-religious, and religious contradictions.
Secondly, the last decades of the past century witnessed the failure of the modern western civilization’s secular ideologies-liberal democracy, nationalism, socialism, communism-that once held out to humankind the hope, in one or the other form , for redemption of society and state; hence the resultant ‘incredulity toward metanarratives of progress and development. The vacuum so caused by the betrayal of the secular ideologies came to be filled by religious effervescence and resurgence in different parts of the world, providing alternative religious ideologies for radical transformation of man, society and state, for ushering in the new world order, for bringing about a new multifocal global civilization in place of unifocal Modern western civilization, now on the way out.
Religious Vs Secular
This brings me to the third important characteristic of contemporary social reality: “the clash of civilizations”. This clash is more of a clash between religious and secular ideologies. The eastern civilizations are intertwined with religious beliefs, rituals and symbols. Religion in eastern civilizations is instantiated in both personal and community life of people. The modern western civilization had, as its foundational category, the ‘deified’ reason that was supposed to reign supreme in nature, history and society, with the promise of bringing about a rational society and system, free from inequities and inequalities. The defied reason has betrayed its promise and so the modern civilization’s claims of progress and development, which in reality should have brought empowerment of the peoples, particularly the marginalized ones, also stand betrayed.
The clash of civilizations, the clash between religious and secular ideologies, the clash between religious terrorism and counter-terrorism are all enmeshed with each other is becoming clearer every passing day. The US led offensive, enlisting the support of countries after countries, in the name of counterterrorism, is deeper in implication than what it appears on the surface. The US president George W Bush in his address to the Americans on the 5th anniversary of September 11 attacks on world trade center stated that the UNITED STATES was engaged in “ a struggle for civilization” and that this was “the decisive ideological struggle of the era”.
Economic disparity
Coming back to the dialectics of contemporary social reality in today’s world, its fourth characteristic is pervasive effect of globalization, both as an economic dispensation and an ideology, cumulatively, eroding the group identities of ethnic, ethno-religious, and religious identities of the minorities and migrants in different parts of the world.
Globalization, as an ideology, has bigger potential than its economic form, for sudden violent eruptions, often in ethnic and religious forms. Globalization is fast fostering a consumerist culture, propped up by credit card borrowings, the illusionary prosperity of which is benumbing the voices of discontents, dissents and protests against the exploitative system and is de-sensitizing the marginalized, the deprived and the other have-nots to the earlier redemptive concepts of revolt and revolution leading to their collective mobilization which, now thanks to globalization, as an ideology, is suffering diffusion, dispersal and dissipation, but nevertheless, getting repressed in subconscious mind.!!!!
Way out
What is the way out of the vicious cycle, referred to in the beginning, created by ‘the terrorism Vs counterterrorism. The solution lies in a radically different mindset, with a seven pronged approach. First, the US led globalized assault on religious terrorism in the name of counter terrorism should be decentered: it would be easier to tackle and contain religious terrorism if it remains context specific, situation specific, region specific , etc. Secondly, the contra-distinction between religious resurgence and upsurge in religious terrorism should be recognized. Thirdly, the dichotomy between religion and secularism, embedded in the modern western civilization, should be transcended and sublated into religious pluralism that should be translated into the praxis of national polities of different countries. Fourthly, the group identities of different ethnic, ethno-religious and religious communities should be respected and all such communities should be treated as equals in national policies. Fifthly, with the gradual and inevitable withering away of nation states under the impact of globalization, the fetishized concept of nation state with rigid international boundaries should be dispensed with; the days of exclusivist national sovereignties. Sixthly, with the rise in the cases of genocide throughout the world, in the name of ethnicity, religion or whatever , time has come to give some special attention to quick justice pattern. Seventhly, accepting the reality of clash of the civilizations, today this should be sublated into synergy of world civilizations in evolving a global multifocal, multicultural civilizations based on both REASON AND FAITH!!!!!

MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO DR. JASBIR SINGH AHLUWALIA( FORMER VICE CHANCELLOR, PUNJABI UNIVERSITY)

**Engineering woes2***
ENGINEERING WOES (PART2)
I REALLY DO NOT REMEMBER WHERE I HAD STOPPED IN STRIPPING OFF ‘ENGINEERING LIFE’ OR TO BE MORE PRECISE LIFE IN ‘ENGINEERING COLLEGE’!!!
AH YES, I HAD TAKEN A BREAK OFF FOR MY 6TH SEMESTER EXAMINATION AND THINGS WERE QUITE HECTIC (THEY ARE SAME THOUGH EVEN AFTER EXAM)
ANYWAYS IT WAS ALWAYS A DREAM TO BE THE SENIOR MOST BATCH IN COLLEGE AND HERE WE ARE IN OUR 7TH SEMESTER,IN OUR FINAL YEAR AND GUESS WHAT ‘WOES’ HAVE INCREASED SEVEN FOLD.
MANY THINGS CHANGE AS WE GROW UP, WE JUST DON’T INCREASE IN INCHES, OUR GREY GETS GREYER , OUR LIPS DON’T SING EVERY SONG WORLD IS SINGING,OUR FINGERS DON’T WRITE FOR JUST FUN AND GROWING IN ENGINEERING COLLEGE GIVES US ALL THIS!!! ALL THESE CHANGES, AS WE GROW UP, WE DON’T JUST WRITE ASSIGNMENTS AND SPIT OUT VIVA VOCE AND SING OUT SESSIONALS, WE MAKE CHANGES, WE INVENT, WE INNOVATE AND WE DEFINE WHAT MEANS WHAT!!!
I KNOW ITS TAKING YOU BY SURPRISE THAT I AM BEING REALLY GOOD TO COLLEGE AND NOT STRIPPING ‘ENGINEERING LIFE’, O DON’T WORRY, THE ARTICLE WILL BE ‘PAISA WASOOL’, I JUST DON’T KNOW WHICH THREAD TO PULL FIRST… LOL ;)
THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING IN HIGHER SEMESTERS IS THAT YOU ARE MORE OF A TEACHER TO YOURSELF AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE DEPENDENCY ON COLLEGE, THIS RULE HOWEVER HAS FEW EXCEPTIONS OF EXTREMELY HARDWORKING PEOPLE WHO COVER IT ALL IN COLLEGE AND GOD FORBID IF A SEMESTER GOES WITHOUT A REGULAR TEACHER FOR SUBJECT THE FORMER ARE ALWAYS THE MERRIER, LATTER CAN BE FOUND BITING OFF THEIR NAILS IN EXAM HALL!!
THERE IS SOMETHING THAT COMES NATURALLY TO AN ENGINEER, LIKE WE INHERIT OUR MOTHER TONGUE, ENGINEERS INHERIT HYPOCRICY AND DIPLOMACY AND AH GOD THEY CONUSE IT WITH INTELLIGENCE, YES THEY DO INHERIT IT IN THEIR COLLEGE LIFE AND I BELIEVE IT IS NATURAL TO DO SO UNTILL AND UNLESS YOU ARE SOME SAINT OR REALLY DUMB!!
THE LAST SEMESTERS ARE BASICALLY MEANT TO SEE IF WE CAN REALLY SURVIVE IN ENVIRONMENT THAT AWAITS US WITH OPEN ARMS!! THUS IN OTHER WORDS A NEWSPAPER ALWAYS WAITS FOR US ON THE BRAKFAST TABLE AND I CANT BELIEVE WHEN MUM SAYS, “CHECK OUT FOR SOME JOB AND ITERVIEW NOTIFICATIONS BEFORE TAKING YOUR TEA”, O GOD!!!
FINE!! YOU SIP YOUR ANGER WITH TEA AND LEAVE FOR COLLEGE WITH BURNING SENSATION IN YOUR THROAT CAUSED BY TEA SERVED WITH LOVE!!! LOL
SUDDENLY YOU FIND COLLEGE EXCITING WHICH YOU NEVER DID IN ALL THOSE THREE YEARS, REASON BEING THAT YOUR HOME IS MORE OF A BATTLEGROUND FOR JOBS AND COLLEGE IS O SO CARELESS WITH ALL THOSE HAVING THINKING AS GOOD AS YOU HAVE… LOL..
SOMEWHERE IN YOUR MIND YOU ALWAYS CALCULATE YOUR PERCENTAGE EVERY HALF AN HOUR JUST TO MAKE SURE YOU STILL FALL IN THE JOB CRITERIA OF BIG COMPANIES, THINKING ALL THIS AFTER A HECTIC DAY AS YOU WALK IN LANE LEADING TO YOUR VILLA, YOU MEET UP ‘XYZ AUNTY’, AND YOU COME TO KNOW HOW HER GIRL WANTS TO BE AN ENGINEER AND ASPIRES TO BE IN “ABC” COMPANY, AND THEN SHE JUST WANTS TO KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT IT AND WHAT HER GIRL SHOULD BE DOING TO BEJUST INLINE FOR A JOB!!! THAT’S WHERE YOU USE F WORD FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME IN YOUR LIFE AND HEY IT IS NO SIN THIS TIME… LOL
YOU REACH HOME AND THANK GOD THAT MUM AND DAD BOTH HAVE NOT TURNED UP, BUT YOU DO FIND AN ‘EMPLOYMENT NEWS’ ON THE FRIDGE WITH A NOTE ATTATCHED TO IT “GO THRU IT BETA”
AND THEN YOU HAVE THE FINEST OF IDEAS UNDER SHOWER, THINKING OF COMPANIES YOU ARE GONNA GOOGLE UP AND SEND YOUR RESUME TO..
YOU COME OUT, TURN YOUR PC ON AND DON’T KNOW WHY YOU GET ON TO THIS THING CALLED “FACEBOOK”
LIKE,UPDATE, COMMENT, CHAT AND FINALLY YOU TAKE YOUR REFUGE IN MUSIC!!!!
MUSIC NEVER DISAPPOINTS YOU AND LETS YOU SLEEP IN ITS LAP TILL YOUR MOM COMES TO WAKE YOU UP AGAIN AND CURSE ENGINEERING!!! LOL
PS>>> ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSE ONLY,NO RESMBLANCE TO ANY CHARACTER LIVING OR SUFFERING… LOL

Happy birthday to me. . A review of happy moments!
9th september, 6pm i get to know from one of my friend and mentor Amir gulzar(regional manager, Ranbaxy int) that there is a surprise in store for me and i better stay with them at their villa, we call it friends villa, i have loads of friends there who do not share college with me but have helped me become what i am. I reached there at 7pm and found everything silent i mean i doubted if anyone else except amir knew about my birthday or it ll be a waste. I talked to sanjiv(mba final yr), mir irfhan (lawyer in jammu high court) vishi bro and Saurabh ma buddy! In a moment i found Ishant entering door with lots of movie dvd's in hand and in his typical tone said,"jaldi jaldi choose karo".! We selected two movies for the night, 'SALT' and 'INCEPTION'. . Now it was all boy zone and i had promised ma sis that i ll be celebrating with her only. Anyways let me come straight to the event, upto 12 we had finished watching one movie and as it stuck 12, i got attacked on all sides from these fellows, they picked me up, threw me up in air, kicked me and finally dropped me hard. . If not for ma birthday i would ve slapped them. . Ma best fren saved me from further torture, she called in at right time and i went off to talk to her. I came down after ten minutes, cut the cake and they danced and cheered for me. . It was really amazing moment. I got calls from friends but missed most of them cuz of celebrations that we were on for. Amir us all out for ice cream at mid night and we came back without it after searching gole market. . Lol:)
I have some of the best people in world as frens. As i lay in ma bed, i logged in to social networking sites and found wishes all around. Thank you so much for wishing. May God bless you all.
Ma alarm rang exactly at 4am and after a shower, i started out with prayers and then went to jog with amir n saurabh.
After a heavy breakfast i turned back to ma place and di was kind of angry but anyhow she gave me a really beautiful gift and hugged me tight! I love you di. :-)
and then i spent ma whole day with di, uncle aunty and cousins, we went off to bahu fort and enjoyed lots, even tried for movie tickets but being friday we were unsuccessful. :-( housefull dabang. .
I just returned back and hey its eid as well na, i really feel blessed to have celebrated ma birthday on eid.
I still have some treats pending for the evening. . . Will catch up with ma buddies and party. ,
thank you all for wishing and God bless you.

Awesome mornings start with hukumnama!!
I Loved this piece of gurbani!
I woke up this morning and like always checked on my cell before goin on for morning prayers, and there i saw this jewel of golden words from shri guru garanth sahib ji!
~~soohee>fifth mehla
Renouncing everything, i have come to the Lords sanctuary: save me, o my Savior Lord!
Whatever YOU link me to, to that I am linked: what can this poor creature do?||1|| O my dear Lord God, YOU are the inner knower, the searcher of hearts.
Be merciful to me, o divine, compassionate Lord, that i may constantly sing YOUR glorious prayers||1||pause||
renouncing self-conceit, i have become the dust of all men's feet, in this way i die while i am alive if not for YOU||2||
How fruitful is the life of that being in this world who chants name in saadh sangat(company of holy). All desires are fulfilled, for one who is blessed with God's kindness and mercy||3||
O Merciful to the meek, Kind and Compassionate Lord, i seek Your refuge. Take pity on me and bless me with YOUR name.
Nanak is the dust of the feet of holy||4||11||58||

*+Kashmir unrest and status of minorities+*
Northern most governed part of india is on boil again and like always we dont find any help from anyone. Year 2008 saw massive protests, infact the largest uprising after 47 in india, but why did it fizz out?? Reasons unknown!!
Year 2010
'LAck Of vision and mission'
I am really sorry if it sounds bit harsh that i am calling this movement without mission and vision, i am no scholar no historian, i am just a common kashmiri living away from his land. I am really disappointed and feel sad about the way things are shaping in kashmir. It is good to know that protests finally are not instigated but spontaneous and we do ve back up from all of india's civil society after a long long time, Do WE WANT IT TO fizz OUT LIKE 2008!!
Some may argue that 08 laid basis for what is happening today, i would slightly disagree because now every tom dick and harry knows that the phase was political which resulted in nothing but losses. This time things are different, and thats really appreciable if we can get something good out of it. ,
i am part of SGPC youth faction (it is one of the governing authorities for sikhs) and after maintaining a long spell of silence i speak. After detailed discussions with the minorities and series of meetings with people over past one month, there are certain things that we want to make clear to each and every person with stone in hand demanding freedom!
1. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE IT A COMMUNAL MOVEMENT.
I know kashmir has been the best example of religious harmony and many would even argue that the movement is not communal, it is purely movement of people, but my interaction with minority people shows a different page altogether. There are certain things that majority community will have to realise very soon if they dont want 2010 to fizz out like 08.
Homing about 8k sikhs in different parts and pandits as well as hindu's kashmir presents really good picture of religious tolerance. I feel proud that even after migration of pandits we were able to maintain our good picture in d eyes of world but now things are changing, now i wont just pick up a single hair cutting incident that raised brows around globally spread sikhs and other communities as well. .
HAIR CUTTING INCIDENT; aftermath. .
I was in direct contact with the district committee of my town baramulla when this incident occured, soon a meeting was called up in jammu to review the situation and press note was released condemning the incident and clearly mentioning that it should not affect brotherhood in valley! Then we had series of assurances coming from all sections of society including hurriyat conf. Sikhs took it as one unfortunate thing and tried to move on but then review of different sections of sikhs yielded following. .
1.Most of the sikhs in valley are beleived to be an obstacle hindering something called azadi.
True they may be because we never were protesting against hindu's or any community and i as a person never felt imprisoned there, yes there were human rights violations there still are and we protest that! The view of sikhs that they are hindrance for the cause of azadi is creating tensions which need to be eased. The meetings of sikhs with gilani or any other did not discuss this, it is an issue.
2. Sikhs have not contributed to the cause of kashmir. .
I wonder how that is true, we work for same govt as majority does. From past 3months the plight of sikhs is same as majority, all are house arrested, education has suffered equally for both.
There are points that one of the members of sgpc has gathered after his visits to twin villages of dardpora and rafiabad, they wil be made public in next post.
I on behalf of the whole sikhs community of jammu and kashmir request and urge majority community to keep the movement away from religion. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh
